In Episode 46 I’m joined by Pastor Keith-alan Hinson. He and his wife Maral are coleaders of Purpose Place LA. Be sure to listen to Episode 45 for more details about how my husband Joe and I started attending Purpose Place LA in July 2020.
At that time, the world felt very dark. Division was everywhere. To mask or not to mask, to vaccinate or not to vaccinate . . . racial and political tensions exploded all around us. We’d just started the All Gifts podcast as a way to spread more light in the world. We’d purchased the equipment, figured out the technology, and I was writing episodes. Amid all of this, we walked into Purpose Place LA.
Immediately, we were struck by something Keith-alan said when he acknowledged the darkness we all felt. He said, “whenever it is at its darkest, God will always raise up light.”
Joe and I looked at each other. Keith-alan was giving words to the urge we’d felt in our spirits to be a force of goodness and love in our generation.
In this conversation, Keith-alan and I discuss how God is raising up light in the world today despite the darkness and an awakening of the Holy Spirit’s power amongst people despite years of putting God in a box.
